Question Hi Kathleen how are you? I am going to be a college graduate at the end of May with an English in bachelors. and I am freaking out. I wrote out a resume that lacks. I never really had work experience, only that I worked in the English department for one semester. I want to work when I am getting my Masters. However, I am not sure if my resume is presentable. I want to get a part-time job as a proofreader. So I was wondering,is there a way I can send you my resume and give me pointers?? I would really appreciate it.
Answer Hi Diane,
I'm fine, but I'm sorry to hear you're "freaking out." No worries; I'm here to help and there's lots of help available on the Web too.
You'll find pointers, resume advice and even some sample resumes there. It may give you some ideas on things you can do to improve your resume, even though you lack experience. Think about what transferable skills you might be able to bring to the job. For example, attention to detail, people skills, computer skills are all things that transfer from one job to another, even though they are not specialized.
