Resume Help/What is the selection criteria statement

Dear Lisa,

I am applying for a new job online. When I come to the part which requires me to upload documents, it asked me to upload:

1. Cover letter
2. your selection criteria statement

I am confused about the 'selection criteria statement'. How is it different from the cover letter?

Thank you

Hi David,

The Selection Criteria Statement closely resembles what we call KSA statements here in the United States, or knowledge, skills, and abilities.  A quick Google search reveals a variety of guidance on developing these statements from different organizations. For instance, this link:

Try to locate specific guidance for your target employer.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
