Question Around 3 years ago I took a 3 month unpaid sabattical from work. A month before I was meant to return I handed in my notice. As I was technically still employed by this company up until the end of the 3 month sabattical I couldn't look for other work until then. What I am wondering though is can I put I worked for this company up until the end of my contract or do I have to put in a career break? I am asking this as I am about to take another career break as I am not happy in my present job and would prefer not to have to many gaps on my CV.
I hope the above makes sense.
Thanks in advance.
Joanna
Answer Dear Joanna:
This is kind of complicated - only in the sense that if the prospective employer calls for references, they may be given a different date then you are giving. I think I would personally just give the years of employment instead of the actual months to avoid this problem. Warmly, R. Butler
