Retirement Planning/Thrift savings only

Question
I am retiring soon and would like to know how soon can I
withdraw my money from the thrift savings, TSP?          i
Retiring in January.

Answer
If you take a distribution from your TSP, it will be taxed as ordinary income.  This is not ideal.  You would want to only take distributions as you need the money.  Each plan has different rules on when you are able take distributions, but all allow you to start after you retire.
