Question My mom is 67 years old suffering from severe bone pain.
On Sep.2007 full blood test and ANA was positive she was treated with Methotrexate&Plaqueninil&corticosteroid Prednisolone2mg once with pain killer Mobic
But she is still suffering even after 5 months of treatment..another doctor saw her(in another country) and repeat for her all the blood test and the result was
ANA negative Antibds DNA negative and Uric Acid very High and we repeat the analysis in another lab it was the same result Negative so he diagnose as Gout and prescribe Zyloric and Colchicine.and stopped for her the Methotrexate &Plaqueninil& Prednisolone2mg.
My question is: could the result of ANA&Antibds DNA
be changed cause of treatment(Methotrexate& Plaqueninil)?
And what we will do now?
stop the Methotrexate& Plaqueninil)?
and treat as gout case ?Or Stay on the first diagnosis and treatment adding zyloric and colchicine?
Need your advice she is suffering too much...

I am unable to answer the question about "what to do now" as asked because that requires giving medical advice which is not legal to do in a forum like this.
It sounds to me like there is something going on beside gout. Gout does not cause bone pain. Gout is when high uric acid causes uric acid crystals to form inside of joints. The pain is limited to joints and pain radiating around the effected joints. Because of the high uric acid levels she may have gout. Zyloric and colchicine will control the uric acid in her system and both are extremely safe.
There are many things that can cause bone pain. It is possible to have autoimmune disease with a negative ANA and Antibds DNA. There are many tests that need to be run.
One of the main causes of severe bone pain in older women is osteoporosis. A bone density test is needed to make sure that she does not have osteoporosis. Severe bone pain should require a bone scan to rule out cancer or other bone diseases.
I would tell the doctor that you are not satisfied with the diagnosis because it does not address the main issue and that you want to rule out osteoporosis and other bone diseases.
