Subject: tense muscles

Question
I have been getting tense muscles in my neck/shoulder area. This started about a month and a half ago and I just wake up on random days and have these tense muscles. Today I woke up and I have tense muscles in the neck/shoulder area AND in my hip area. It is getting really painful and it hurts to walk. Rheumatoid arthritis runs on one side of my family and I was wondering if that could be causing this. Thanks.

Answer
Carly,

Ra does not usually effect muscles. There are autoimmune disorders that can. The best thing to do is to see your doctor. It could be something as simple as a mineral deficiency or signs of something more serious.
