Question a chiropractor recently told me i have significant arthritis in my upper back and neck and also bone spurs...i know i also have arthritis in my pelvis which usually causes no pain .. how would i know if this is osteoarthritis or rheumatoid? what can a regular dr do to help is it worth going to one?
Answer A rheumatologist can tell you what type of arthritis you have. Osteoarthritis can be treated with anti-inflammatories, but rheumatoid arthritis is more dangerous to your joints and may need more aggressive treatment. There are some really outstanding, new medications and some that have been used for years and are well understood and tolerated. Your doctor will work with you to find the right treatment.
