Expert: Karen Brawner Date: 9/12/2004 Subject: Certo for arthritis?
Question An MD (Peter Gott) writing in the Dallas morning News recently published a "recipe" using Certo and grape juice for arthritis pain. He admits he has no idea how it works, but says it can't hurt anything. Certo is apparently a product (possibly a brand name) used in making jelly. Do you have any idea where I can get some? I have had No luck at local stores or on the internet, and the paper didn't publish a way to contact Dr Gott.
Thanks
Jo
Answer Dear Jo, THis is a home remedy that goes all the way back to at least the 1940's..... One teaspoon of Certo in 8 oz. of grape juice DAILY, but on the otherhand, some reference is make to 2 teaspoons in 3 oz. of grape juice three times per day .... It may and may not work, but it is worth a try....
