Question
My neighbor was diagnosed with RA and after being treated for several months was also diagnosed with a tumor on her lung. Is there any connection to having RA and getting cancer? She is on her way to Duke to be tested to see if the tumor has spread into the lymph nodes.

Answer
Hi Sherry, as far as I know there is no established direct link, but I believe there is based on chronic exposure to auto-immune induced inflammation. This is proven and shown to cause dysplasia (the precursor to cancerous cells).

It probably won't be long until they find that direct link.

Thanks for the Good Question Sherry,

Have a Nice Day!
