Subject: My Rat

Question
My pet rat, Coco, drinks an excessive amount of water and  pees profusely. Is there anything that I can do for her? Thanks.

Answer
What age is Coco? Does she live on her own? Just that rats need friends and have much better lives with some friends. Peeing a lot and drinking a lot would indicate diabetes in most animals although I dont think its common in rats. I guess its not impossible. It could also be a problem with the brain that is stimulating her to drink more than usual. Both these causes would need checked out by a vet before you could get a diagnosis. It may also be hard to find out whats wrong with her as its not a common problem. A good vet should be able to help. Good luck
