Question
I have a mouse (who I'm guessing is 2 weeks old because she opened her eyes yesterday). I have been feeding her puppy formula about 6 times a day. Now I'm wondering how I can start to wean or at least introduse her to a food soon. I don't know when they can eat any moistend food or anything. Any info. would help. Thank you.

Answer
Hi there, as soon as she can wander around the cage, there would be no harm in giving her some food to see if she eats it. You could also give her very tiny amounts of baby food just until she gets used to eating solid foods as there is a big difference between milk and baby food and it could cause a tummy upset. Soft cooked foods like potatoes, rice and chicken can be given as they need protein for growth. As soon as she is old enough she can eat mouse food supplemented with other sources of protein like chicken and rice. Hope this helps
