Question
Hi

Can two or more males be kept together?

Can two or more males live with one or two females?

Answer
Keeping chinnies is a bit complicated as far as this question goes.  You can keep two males together (I wouldn't keep more than that in the same cage) as long as there are no females around. You can keep two or more females together without a probably, for the most part. And you can keep one male in with one or more females.

The thing with the males is, as with any other species, both males will fight over the female when she's in heat. And this could result in death.  One of my chinnie cages is set up so that I have one neutered male in with three females and I've never had a problem. I also have an unneutered single male in a cage that butts up against the bigger cage.  And I've never had a problem there either.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
