thanks sue

Answer
I cant really tell you if your degus attack eachother, it depends on the individual degus really, why do you have a male and female living together? Are they neutered? If they are sick you shouldnt really breed from them. The male could be very stressed out as stress can make them more prone to mites. If the vet thinks they have mites then I would recommend carrying on with the treatment. If it is fur loss due to mites, one injection isnt enough to clear it up, they would need two or three and the whole cage would have to be cleaned and everything that cant be disinfected would have to be thrown out as there could still be mite eggs in the cage and they could get reinfested. I hope this helps
