Answer hmmm, you could call local pet stores and ask them if you can put up a flyer for a free gerbil or do they know anyone who would like a free gerbil. Generally pet stores will allow it. If you take it to the humane society they will probably put it to sleep. The pet store is the best route to go. :-)
