Question
I have two field mice (feeder mice) that I bought about a week ago. Do you know some of the behaviors the female will have when she is pregnant.

P.S. I applied for volunteering in the fish section this morning and want to know when they will email me saying yes or know.

Answer
You can't tell if your mouse is pregnant from her behavior.

Females' cycle of heat is about 4-5 days, and the gestation period is usually from 19 to 21 days. If you got your mice a week ago and they are sexually mature (at least over 4 weeks old), you can expect to see the female's belly rounding up in a couple of weeks. Please note that the female's first pregnancy shouldn't be before she turns three months old - you wouldn't expect a 12 year old human girl to be able to handle pregnancy that soon either!
