Question -
Hi,
I just started training a 6 yr old mare for barrels last september. I was wondering what kind of excercises I can do to not make her so stiff in the right side?? She has started to blow up and will act like she is afraid behind and coming out of the first barrel only when I lope or trot the pattern. I am positive she isn't afraid of anything around the barrel or around the pattern that could be making her act like she is afraid. Everyone thinks that her neck could just be out or she is just really stiff. If you don't think that is it, what else do you think could be making her do that?

Answer -
Hi, Katie to tell you the truth I'm not really sure what is wrong with your mare, but if I had to guess I would say that she is just really stiff other then that I don't know I'm sorry. If I can be any help in other areas don't hesitate to ask and I shall do my best to answer. Good Luck.

Hi,
would you happen to know any excercises or stretches to loosen her up?
Thanks

Answer
Katie I'm sorry to say that horse training is something I don't know a lot about. However I'm sure there is something you could find on the internet, and also your veterinarian might have some helpful information. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

-Nick
