Question
QUESTION: hello,
i am trying to find out if there are any people still around who might have stayed in outhouses at Villa Nellcote when the Stones were there recording Exile on Main Street?  i know people travelled to be around them but it's before my time so i don't know where to look to find or post to ask questions and find source material for a project I am working on.
thanks,
mary c

ANSWER: Mary,
That would be quite impossible to know after nearly 40 years...Maybe only some local residents. By the way what kind of project are you working on? Sounds interesting.

Marcelo

Answer
Mary,
Sounds great, is it gonna be for TV or commercial release? Let me know if there's something I can help you with, I've been a Stones collector/researcher for about 30 years now, saw them 52 times, etc.
Since your project is related to the Exile album, you may check out the following video on YouTube, link as follows:

Done by Robert Frank (who directed CS Blues), but it's all rare footage, not in the movie.

Later,
Marcelo

Expertise

I am able to answer all kinds of questions focused on the life and times of The Rolling Stones and their recording career, including accurate information about their huge catalog of unreleased songs and live takes, as well as collectors' items. However, I'm not the one to provide quotes or estimates about how much collectibles may be worth.

Experience

I have been a Rolling Stones non-stop fan and collector for more than 30 years now, and I've seen them live over 50 times around the world. I also got the chance to talk to them several occasions. Although I own a very nice personal collection, I mostly consider myself a researcher and archivist, as it's information/facts about The Greatest Rock'n'Roll Band in the World what I'm mostly experienced in. Last but not least, as a Stones collector myself, it's always good to get in touch with other Stones fans/collectors from around the world that can be interested in trading/swapping items.

Publications
A wide range of Argentinian music magazines and assorted newspapers. Also currently contributing for Brazilian publications and online magazines, as well as several Stones books, fanzines and websites.

Education/Credentials
-English/Spanish/Portuguese translator -Music journalist, mostly freelance, for about 25 years now
