AboutIsabel Expertise Please consider asking Nell Minow because she seems more knowledgable than I am, but if she is unavailable I may be able to help. Please read my expertise & realize you are asking a question in romantic movies because I will feel bad if I cannot help you but if you ask about something outside my area of expertise likely I will be unable to help. I can answer questions about story lines, characters, and cast/crew in ROMANTIC movies 1940s, 1950s, & 1990 - present. I cannot help you with questions related to gossip surrounding the cast or people who are not listed in the credits. If the movie is rated R I probably cannot help you.
Experience I have seen numerous romantic movies and read different articles about them.
Question I saw a movie (a long time ago) that haunts me to this day. I don't believe it was an American film, but it did not have subtitles; it was about two children who fall in love and run away together. I remember a lot of countryside, possibly French, and farms on their journey together. The soundtrack was beautiful and possibly by Elton John or Cat Stevens, I'm not sure. Does any of this sound familiar? I'd appreciate some help with this. I do equate this with about the time I saw another film, A Clockwork Orange, so it could have been made around 1971; I was fond of seeing independent and offbeat films at that time. Thank you.
Answer Jean,
The found two possible movies.
Friends (1971) it has music by Elton John and two children/teens in love who run away together. However, it says the movie has explicit sexual scenes so I am not sure it is the one you are looking for. One reviewer said they were shocked it was sold in the US because it supposedly portrays minors doing sexual acts. I have never seen it, so I do not know if this is the one you are looking for. However, if you want to see a description check out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067118/
Deep End (1971) it has music by Cat Stevens a guy falls in love with a gal, but I do not know if they run away together. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066122/
If neither of these is the movie you could try asking Nell Minnow she is more knowledgeable than I am.
