Question From my past recollection of the trailer, it is based on this solo brunette figure skater who is at the top of her field, with a very pushy parent backing her (possibly her mother) but then she has an accident whilst skating and can't/doesn’t skate alone anymore (I thought it might have been Hilary Swank but its not) so she begins skating with this rebellious brunette guy who does street dancing – and I assume from what I saw that it’s the usual romcom setup - where at first they don't like each other at first, then they do, then they fall out and it all comes back together at the end (I imagine its very much like a “save the last dance” or “step up” kind of film)

This most likely The Cutting Edge 2. I have only seen The Cutting Edge, which is the same plot but the guy is a Hockey Player. I have looked up the Cutting Edge 2 and it does not say what the guy did before ice skating. I hope this is some help.
They also made a 3rd movie but it's about a guy finding a girl partner.
