Question
What's pookie?

Answer
Robin,
I'm guessing you've had a roofer out to look at a repair or problem (??) and he told you that he'll just "put some pookie around that there and that'll fix 'er right up."

I've heard the word used in a couple of different context but as it relates to roofing, "pookie" is roof cement, the black stuff out of a bucket or can that roofers use to seal roof materials to something (like smeared around the base of pipe vent in an improper attempt to seal an improperly flashed or faulty flashed pipe vent) or adhere roof materials to some underlying material (like shingles onto the flange of metal flashing).
