Question Hi i am bidding a job to roof a very steep roof but that is not the problem . the house is a shaley
style . the roof is framed with 3x6 every two feet with 2x6 tung and grove bevel one side for sheathing then they put 2"styra foam on top of 2x6 then wood roof shingles. i have to remove the wood shingles and install asphalt roof shingles. if i put the roof shingles on top of styra foam i feel the nails will blow right throw the shingle and the foam. and if i install plywood on to of the foam will that be ok for the back side of the ply wood . can you help. thanks
Answer Richard,
Ive only done one project like this. This was the material we used, it has plywood bonded to the insulation. You might want to look into this:
