Roofing - roof over dble wide

Expert: Michael J. Owen - 7/2/2009

Question
i have a 15 yr old dbl wide catheral ceiling.I have to replace shingles. Can i put 2 layers on or not.i here yes and know.

Answer
Hi John. There should be no problem putting another layer of shingles on the roof. One thing to consider is if you may have problems with your local building dept. Some states or counties will only allow one layer total. If you don't tell, they should not know.
Hope this helps.
