Question Contractors working on my home accidentally drilled a small hole in my roof, went straight throught the wood out through the shingle. What type of future damage am I looking at, is this minor, or should I have them do the entire side where the damage has been done. I really dont want to run into a huge problem down the line, they advised me that they would put a metal sheet over the hole and then a new shingle? Is it that simple or are they trying to bamboozle me? Need help, thanks!
Answer Hi Jay. A thin metal plate over the hole should be fine as long as they caulk under it and all round the edges. This is the best solution as it will stop any possibility of being able to puncture it in the future.
Hopefully, you kept some shingles back from when the roof was installed.
