Roseanne/What do you think happened to the original David Jacob?

In addition to you answer, youtube has a video where a interview with the cast was featured after the show ended. Sara Gilbert reveals that she actually had an argument with Sal Barone and hit him in the face or stomach. I would check but I think the video has since been removed. The producers told her to try and not hit the new D.J.
Hope that helps

This is "the" Sal Barone, here to answer the question about me. Yea, there was some trouble with Sara Gilbert, but I'm not sure that was the sole reason that they recast the DJ part. I think that other factors were that I was significantly older than the DJ character, which would have become problematic later on in the show since they found out early that the show was going to be a success. Note: Some of the sites I've seen say that it was because I was too young, but this is incorrect.
The last reason, and probably best one, is because of the writer's strike that happened as we were shooting the pilot. This strike gave the producers as much time as they needed to recast the part. I think without this strike they would have not had the time to recast the part.
Of course, who knows what the real reason is. This is my take on the subject, and I don't know anybody except for the producers themselves who would have a better idea.
Hope that answers your question!

Im from bowling green ohio. I actually know sal barone because was a student at BGSU and is now teaching math somewhere else. Anyways... he worked at a pizza shop with me and I didnt believe him when he told me he was the original DJ on Roseanne, but I looked it up and it was true!! He said him and sara gilbert got in a fight and she actually slapped him in the face... I know its probably hard to believe but its true!!

You said you were from BG, Ohio, and I assume you did not attend BGSU. Your English is deplorable. The university, which graduated me, would never allow you to pass English 112 with such vile writing. (Go Falcons!)

"...which graduated me"? Really? How about "the school I graduated from"? Sounds like a great English department at your esteemed school "which graduated you" btw.

How about "...the school from which I graduated..."?
