Question I have room in my small garden for only one white rose --- either a John F Kennedy Rose (hybrid tea) or a Moondance Rose (floribunda). What are the advantages of one compared to the other in terms of fragrance, disease resistance, insect resistance, and general beauty in the landscape?
Answer Moondance...bred by Dr. Zary, a top notch breeder. It is a floribunda with a raspberry fragrance. The flowers are about 4 inches and have 25 petals. The bush is very tall around 5 feet.
J.F. Kennedy...bred by Gene Boerner, another top breeder. It is a hybrid tea with a good fragrance. The flowers are about 5 inches and have 25 petals. The bush is tall around 4 feet. This rose needs a warm climate to be at it's best. It doesn't like really cold winters. White roses usually prefer warmth.
