Royal Caribbean - What do we wear in February

Expert: Linda - 10/17/2009

Question
Hi Linda!
Is going to be first time my boyfriend and I go on a cruise, we booked for February 4 on the "Navigator of the Seas" 4 nights Western Caribbean. It will be great if you would tells us what clothes to take, since i have no idea what would it be like during that month! Thanks
Maria

Answer
Maria, great question.  the caribbean is usually warm all year long, but as with any country, there can be that quirky weather.

For the days, shorts and capris, bathing suit and coverup, flip flops or sandals.  If you're going on shore, then same shorts/capris and good tennis should or walking shoes.

Bring a button down sweater for the restaurants, theatres, they can get very chilly.  For at night, slacks, sweaters or slacks and blouse, work type dresses or pant suits.  for formal night, the basis black dress works just fine, or skirt and top.  for boyfriend, sport jacket, or suit whichever he's more comfortable with.

Be sure to pack sunscreen, a hat for the sun, if you ge new shoes, make sure they're broken in BEfORE the cruise.  do bring a jacket as it will be chilly on deck at night.  I always pack a "beach" bag, so I can put in my "stuff" when we go on shore, also a place to put anything you buy on shore.

I could tell you not to overpack...but rarely does anyone listed.  truly, all you really need is to match your tops and bottoms with 2/3 colors and interchance them. Same for what you wear at night, change up your accessories and you're good to go, plus pair of sandalw, tennis shoes and dress shoes and pair of flip flops.

Have a wonderful cruise...

Linda
