Question QUESTION: We are on our first cruise to the Eastern Med on the Legend of the Seas, Sept '09. I'm happy with what I can wear but my husband is a little more concerned. Are shirts white and are they normally long sleeved? Can he wear short sleeved on the smart casual nights? This may seem a naive question but do men take their jackets off at dinner?
I would welcome your advice.
Jane
ANSWER: Hi Jane,
I love the Legend of the Seas - she's a beautiful ship! You'll find that passengers on Eastern Med cruises are a bit dressier than the Caribbean itineraries but there's no hard and fast rule. For your husband - he can choose from short or long-sleeved shirts (especially on casual nights) and shirts can be any color. And yes, some men do take their jackets off at dinner although many do not.
Have a great time, I hope this was helpful!
Bon Voyage,
Christine

QUESTION: Hi Christine
Thank you for your answer.
I would now like to ask - re the hire of formal attire on ship for my husband, would he keep it for all of the formal nights on the cruise or does he hire for each night? I'm thinking it should be for all the nights as hiring for each night would be a bit costly.
Kind Regards
Jane
Answer Hi Jane,
The cost of renting (or hiring) formal attire is the cost for the entire cruise. Some cruises have more than one formal night, depending on the length of the cruise. Your husband can set this up ahead of time online at www.royalcaribbean.com or wait until he boards.
