Question
We are booking 2 cabins oceanview on deck 3 Freedom of the Seas Dec 27 to the Caribbean since there are no more cabins oceanview available on a higher deck. I have never gone lower than deck 6 and I am concerned that it is going to be too noisy or that I will field too much the motion. The cabins are #3550 and # 3638. Have you cruised in deck 3 and what are your comments? I also have one option on deck 9 with balcony but the quote is about 40% more expensive. We have to reserve today please advice.
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Gioconda,
I just got your message, I hope I'm not too late. I think you'll be fine with these two cabins.
My husband and I both just looked in our RCCL book at where the cabins are, and we'd try either of these ourselves. Both are mid-ship and you will tend to feel less motion mid-ship, at least from our experience, and from everything I've ever heard. On a ship this large, you aren't likely to feel much motion anyway. We were on the Freedom's sister ship the Independence in Jan of this year and didn't feel any. You shouldn't hear any engine noise if that's what you meant by noise. I would probably try this before I'd go for the 40% higher balcony, that's a big price difference. These ships are amazing! Have a great cruise! :-)  Becky

I love cruising! I've been on Royal Caribbean the most, and I've also been on NCL, Princess, and Carnival. I'm most familiar with Caribbean sailings. Feel free to ask me any questions though. If I don't know the answer, I will try to find it, and if I can't, I'll direct you to some good cruise sites where you can find the info that you're looking for.
