Question
We are deporting from Ft. Lauderdale.  Is there somewhere safe there to leave our car?  (We never cruised before).  Do we have to have passports?  We are going to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.  Thank you!

Answer
Hi, Jeri...
They have a place to park right at the port for a fee. Here is a website for the port, and it has info on parking. http://www.porteverglades.net/cruising/  Also, if you're staying the night before your cruise... some hotels have free shuttles to the port, and I believe they will let you keep your car at the hotel too. That might be cheaper than paying to park at the port, which I believe is $15 a day. Although, at the same time, it's nice to just get off of the ship and get in your car and go. (Without having to take the shuttle back to the hotel first.)
Yes, you need passports. Here's a link for Royal Caribbean's website about passports.

I'll give you a few sites below too that are good for more research. You can always ask
me another question too. I'll help if I can. Hope you have a wonderful cruise! Becky

These 3 sites are similar and free to use, but Cruise Critic was the first and is the busiest. You can also visit the message boards and talk to people on there if you have questions about anything/everything cruise related. You can talk to people who have been on the same ship you've booked, and also talk to people who will be on your same sailing too.

I love cruising! I've been on Royal Caribbean the most, and I've also been on NCL, Princess, and Carnival. I'm most familiar with Caribbean sailings. Feel free to ask me any questions though. If I don't know the answer, I will try to find it, and if I can't, I'll direct you to some good cruise sites where you can find the info that you're looking for.
