EPDM COMPOUND SPECIFICATION

1  HARDNESS =  70±5°A
2  TENSILE STRENGTH = 100 Kg/cm2 (min)
3  % OF ELONGATION = 200%(Min)
Ageing In air at 150°c for 70HRS.
1      CHANGE IN HARDNESS = +10°A
2    CHANGE IN TENSILE STRENGTH = 80 Kg/cm2 (min)
3    CHANGE IN % OF ELONGATION = 160% (Min)
OZONE RESISTANCE TEST
1 OZONE CONCENTRATION 100pphm
2 TEMPRETURE OF TEST 40°c
3 STRAIN  20%
4 TEST DURATION 96 hrs.
ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA =   NO CRACKS OBSEREVED AT 10X MAGNIFICATION.

ANSWER: You can use Nordel or other EPDM with high ethylene content, cured by peroxide 7-9 phr of DCP 40, with 2-3 phr of a co-agent.
Relating to co-agent using TAC the crosslink density will be high and the compound will be little hard, using TMPTMA you will obtain a product more elastic with higher elongation - you choose with is best, the termal results are the same.
Use a antioxidante system wiy=th 1.2 phr of TMQ or TMQ combined with MB.
Use paraffinic oil with high paraffin content, like Subpar 2280
Color you choose, if is black use N762, or clear use a combination of sílica and CaCO3 with Silane Si-72.
