Running a Restaurant/Discipline


I am a fifty two year old woman with 25 years experience in the service industry.  I was recently hired at a Mom and Pop restaurant and was asked to take on role as assistant manager.  There is a family member on the team that is a workplace bully.  She made several attempts to humiliate me in the presence of fellow employees and customers.  I spoke to the owner regarding this issue and was let go.  My question is.....How can this behavior be tolerated for 28 years and still this restaurant is in business?

It sounds as though it is good that you left.  I see this kind of thing in all kinds of businesses, not just restaurants.  It is sad, but it happens.  You just have to believe that Karma will catch up with them at some point.
