Rush/Rush's albums

Question
Hi

I recently saw Rush in concert and was blown away by their musicianship.  They have so many albums though, I don't know which ones to buy.  I was just wondering if you have any input on what albums rock.  I'm a huge a fan of their instruments and not a big fan of Geddy's voice.  Maybe it takes some getting used to.  So I guess I'm looking for an album that has really great instrumentals.

Thanks
Charles

Answer
Hi Charles!
Well the most noted Rush album ever has got to be "Moving Pictures"  It has an instrumental as well as some long musical parts without Geddy's voice.   That would be number one on my list!  Then I would go with "Hemispheres," while the first side is a "rock opera" it has some cool parts on it as well as a very cool instrumental: La Villa Strangiato.  Very cool album.  Then I would go with "A Farewell To Kings"  two great songs live here; Xanadu and Cygnus X-1, totally awesome!

So to review (in order):
1.  MOVING PICTURES ('81)
2.  HEMISPHERES ('78)
3.  A FAREWELL TO KINGS ('77)

Keep in mind these are some of their older recordings, but they really rocked harder back then...

Hope you enjoy!

Expertise

I have a general knowledge of the band Rush, but I would say my expertise would be in their drummer Neil Peart such as setups over the years equipment etc...
