Russian visa and transportation, places to stay and to go.

Experience
I?m originally from St.Pete, but live now in Moscow. Mostly I could advice you about those two cities, but some tips about Caucasus, Russian North and Golden Ring you may find useful too, cause I have travel there a lot in last few years. Also feel free to ask me ?technical? Q?s about visa and registration and so on?

Russia - Money

Expert: Ivan - 9/11/2005

Question
Hello Ivan

I have just read that if I bring more than $1,500.00 I must declare it at the Customs.

I also read in another place that you only need to declare money about $10,000.00.

How can I check this with the authorities.

By the way do you work for Intrepid Travel, or is that just you id?

Thanks

Roger

Answer
Roger,

Starting from July 18 2005 you have to declare all money and values (capital issues for ex., etc) if the total amount is over $10K. Here is the link (in Russian) www.customs.ru/ru/fl_info/valuta/printable.php?print=1
You could ask for details during the crossing the board.

That was just my id. May be Intrepid offer me full time at once :)

Regards,
Ivan
