Russian Culture/russian girls

Question
Hello. I am infatuated by this russian girl in my college, but am afraid to speak with her. The problem is that I am Indian and i have heard that russians are pretty racist towards non white skinned people. Could you suggest to me if my belief is correct and I should stay away or I am wrong and should move forward....

Answer
Oh dear dear what have you being hearing lol!
No, go for it, if she's racist it's not a reflection on the fact that she's Russian, it would be a reflection of the fact that she's bigoted. I'm sure she's not. Come up and speak to her, and just act generally normal, but don't forget to be a gentleman around her like open doors for her etc...That's about the only advice I can give, every girl is different, but hopefully that's one thing most Russian girls like!
Good luck!

Expertise

I am Russian, I was a child when I emigrated, and felt like I had lost my roots for a while. So when the time came, I studied a bit about my own culture, and sort of reclaimed my heritage. I hope I know a fair bit about Russia, not only from being Russia and speaking Russian etc. but also through my own journey of finding out more about Russian culture.

Experience

I am Russian and have studied a bit about Russian culture, as well as doing a intercultural communication course at university.
