Question
Hello! I need to know, for story purposes, the English spelling of the Russian words for 'strawberry' and 'ladybug'. 'Strawberry' needs to be the version one might use as a private nickname (given to the character by a non-Russian, so it doesn't really have to be proper), and 'ladybug' is meant to be used as a pet's name (actually by a Russian, so if some other variation would be used, do tell. I'd like to do this right).

Thanks in advance,

Jayden

Answer
Hi,

Here are the tranlsations:
strawberry: "земляника" (zemlyanika) zem-lee-NEE-kah
ladybug: "божья коровка" (bozhya korovka) BOZH-ya ka-ROF-kah

As you see, the words are long in Russian, especially the latter.

Here's the file with the pronunciation of "ladybug" in Russian:

Regards,
Anatoli
