Question
Hello,
I hear of the fires on the news. That is so terrible. Anyway to get right to the point, I have to do a community service project to graduate from school and what I want to do is make quilts and make packages for people that have lost their homes. Who would I contact about the packages if I chose to make them? My question is are these needed or are they already getting support from the government or community that they wouldn't need them and also should I take a different direction in my service project?
Thanks,
Christine

Answer
Hi Christine,

I am currently out of the country on vacation but I can suggest contacting the American Red Cross for some direction as to where you can send packages for the displaced. They can probably also answer your questions about who is getting help and who needs help.

Check out:

Riverside County Red Cross
Address: American Red Cross
Riverside County Chapter
6235 River Crest Drive, Suite D
Riverside, CA 92507

E-mail: pama@riversidecounty.redcross.org
Phone: 909-656-4218
Fax: 909-656-4329
Web site: http://www.riversidecounty.redcross.org

Best of luck!
-Lance
