I am a Level 1 (Small Boat) US Sailing Certified Instructor on City Island (Bronx), NY. I have been sailing since I was a young child and starting racing as a Junior Sailor and continue both now. Racing as a Junior Sailor against the regular club members we won three first place trophies in the club owned boat. In another race we borrowed a members boat and placed third in a race that attracted sailors from around the NY,NJ,CT area.

Subject: What is a good sailboat for a beginner?

Question
I am new to sailing and would like to buy but i am small, 110 pounds, and I an
not sure if I wiil be able to right it if I tip over. What boat would be a good
choice?

Answer
The size boat matters more on your height, age, and how serious you think your going to be with sailing.  What boats are you looking at?

I've taught young kids, and they were all able to get the boats righted.  It's less about weight, and more about leverage, and your ability to get yourself back into the boat.
