Question
hi i have just treated my saltwater aquarium with oddinex treatment as my yellow tang and pacific blue tang both developed whitespot. i have been told to remove the carbon from my filter and keep the lights switched off. i was just wondering how long i should leave it before putting the carbon back in? it is a 3 stage treatment which takes 3 days to complete. any help would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello Chris,

I am not familiar with 'oddinex' treatment.  but typically carbon is used to clear out/filter out stuff like medicines and other trace elements.

I would either contact Oddinex to find out what they reccomend or wait at least one week prior to using carbon again.

Keep in mind, you really dont need to use carbon.  It is suggested to use carbon for specific issues, smell, color, etc...   if you dont have a problem with those things, then i would suggest saving your money and using the carbon only when needed...

good luck
