Question
hi my name is yasmine and i have a question i go fishing in ocean beach california ,but i never catch a fish what do i need to learn to catch at least one fish i really get into fishing but i never catch onecan you please help me ?can you please tell me what kind of bait ,hooks and everything else please and thank you so much for youre help

Answer
Hi Yasmine;

 There are many, many books written about fishing, and even if you read every one of them, you would still have difficulty catching fish.  The reason is that local information is absolutely essential for success.  I do not fish in that area and can only guess about what you should do.  But I do know how to find out.  Here it is.  Visit a local bait and tackle shop.  Not a large chain store like Walmart or Sports Authority that may sell fishing tackle, but rather, something local and privately owned.  Spend a few dollars on whatever bait or rigs the owner may suggest and ask specific questions about where, when and how to fish.  Chances are this person will set you in the right direction.  It is important for him to make you a satisfied customer who will come back to buy more bait and tackle.  The only way to get such a customer is to help them catch fish, and any decent privately owned local bait and tackle shop that has been around for a while, will do just that.
