Question
I`m looking for the name of the Giants pitcher that broke his arm twice in the late 80`s / early 90`s ? Thanks

Answer
I think you're probably thinking of Dave Dravecky.  The Giants traded for Dave Dravecky during their pennant run in 1987.  Sometime in 1989 he was diagnosed with cancer in his left (pitching) and underwent treatment for it.  He made a triumphant return in 1989 against the Cincinatti Reds, defeating them at home.  In his second appearance in 1989, on the road in Montreal, his arm, much weakened by the treatments he had received, broke from the force of throwing a pitch.  Watching on television you could hear the snap.  His cancer later returned and he ended up losing the arm.  He now works doing motivational speaking and has written, I believe, an autobiography.
