Question How is that Ku band has more focused beam?
Answer hi,
thanks for the question
there is a fundamental property of any antenna radiation pattern. the wider the beam, the lower the gain. spot beams are also available in c band, but are common in Ku band to provide more power to that specific region and enable communications with small antennas (VSATs)
Another aspect is that of antenna beamwidth and its dependance on frequency. for the same diameter, a c band antenna will have a wider 3 dB beamwidth than a Ku band antenna. the higher the frequency, the smaller the beamwidth if you keep diameter constants, so if you think of a satellite with typical 1.5 and 2 mt reflectors, if the same antenna is used for dual frequency operation, one beam will be smaller than the other.
there are various elements in this discussion, but i hope what i mentioned contributes to understanding the issue.
