Subject: Regarding Satellite Footprints...

Question
Hi Sir,
My question is regarding the satellite footprints that how they are decide and how they are limited. Means if i wish my signal coverage is limited to india only then how the satellite guys manage.

Answer
Hi,

Engineers tailor the footprint to suit the owner's maps (owners of satellites like Optus-Singtel, Intelsat, Eutelsat, Panamsat, Nilesat, hotbird, arabsat,...........)
Think of it like a flashlight you point at a specific area and you can adjust the size of this area as well as the shape but remember that the bigger the area, the lesser the light intensity reaching it, it's likewise of the satellites.
To view maps of footprints of all satellites in operation, visit

Good luck

N George
