Question
Dear TIRUMALA RAO G

we are using dsng for live coverage, dvb s2 ku band at 2Mhz BW paksat(53dbw EIRP,+5db gain) with 1.2 antenna, 20w buc, symbol rate is 1000 ks/s,8psk 5/6, 1700kb/s bit rate and we are using -26db IF level on modulator.

actually my 1st question is how we determine that -26db is enough power is to avoiding buc over drive.
any formula to check IF level with that parameters.
2nd questing is with the above parameter how we determine at least equipment means which at least power of buc antenna etc and parameters we can use for batter quality within these satellite eirp etc

Thanks a lot.

Answer
Hi Mr Usama,
Your question is directly linked to Satellite Link Budgeting and you can refer any site that deals with this topic. However the specifications of equipment is more important in terms of operation parameters. The Satellite Xponder you use gives sufficient info as to how to fix the operating point and correspondingly get good Eb/No for DSNG configuration. All this may be clear if you go thru the manual of your DSNG supplier and the Satellite specifications.
Cheers/GTRao
