Question
I have a 98 Saturn SL, 1.9 liter.  It has an engine knock that has gotten much worse lately.  I was told that it is probably a bad rod and that I need a new engine.  Is it possible, though, to repair the rod/engine itself and not have to swap out the engine?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Todd

Well it depends on alot of factors,,,,,,first you have to make sure that the crank isn't damaged, if so that is expensive it'self......next if the cylinder got damaged....

it can all lead up to a more expensive fix than just getting a junk yard engine.......but the choice is yous

let me know what you decide

ERIC
