Saturn Repair - oil in spark plug well

Expert: ken power - 4/16/2004

Question
Yesturday, I changed my spark plug wires and found that the first well had oil full up to the brim.  I changed the other three and left that one and the car is running alot smoother.  However, I have been told 1)I may have a leaking head gasket or 2)a bad valve cover gasket.  It seems to me that the valve cover gasket is more likely.  What do you think and do you think that this a job for only a professional or with a lot of time could this job be done by an at-home mechanic?  Thank you so much for your time.
Ruby
