Subject: saturn vue temperature gauge problem

Question
hi, i have a 2004 VTi 4 cylinder Saturn Vue and my temperature gauge is spiking randomly. It doesn't matter if i'm moving or in park. It goes up to half way or more and the check temperature light goes on. There is enough coolant in the tank. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
There could be a few different reasons for this. First the coolant temp sensor could be failing or if you have had a coolant flush or similar repair in the cooling system, they may not have let the system purge completely. I would replace the sensor to start with though.
