Subject: aubergine girl
Question QUESTION: I have been looking everywhere for the song Aubergine girl, i assume it was a b side to one of savage garden's singles. Do you know by any chance where I could find it or what single it was a b side to?
ANSWER: Hi there!
Sorry I've taken so long to reply.
Do you know when it was released?
"Aubergine girl" does ring a bell but not really as a song.
I have all the b-sides to do with their first album, but not all the ones for the second album and it's songs. I'm not sure what to suggest - if you have searched everywhere for it and nothing's come up then it sounds like it could have been something else - like a special live song or something?! Where did you hear of it?
The only thing I can suggest is go through all the singles from the second album and look at an online music store for a list of the songs on each single. Remember that there's usually at least 3 or 4 different versions of each single (Australian, US, European, many songs, only 2 songs etc)..
I'm sorry I can't help more then that but I don't have all the second album singles nor know as much about the second album and it's songs.

QUESTION: I have no idea when it was released, or if it was released at all!! I heard of it because I was looking up lyrics to savage garden songs and found the lyrics, but no more information on it. is there any particular websites you would recommend searching??
Answer Hi again Ruth!
Searches like what I talked about is not something I do much of so I'm no expert on that.
Here are a couple though:
Play.com
(http://www.play.com/Music/CD/6-/Search.html?searchstring=Savage+Garden&searchtyp...)
Amazon.com
(http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/103-8805465-0190247?url=search-alias%3Dpopu...)
Amazon.co.uk
(http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/202-3857090-3583029?url=search-alias%3D...)
Try to think of big music chains in your country or otherwise.
I think that it's perhaps likely that it's not a released song. I can't say this and be absolutely sure however as I don't have a complete overview of their b-sides or similar from a little while after the release of their second album.
If this is so then perhaps the reason why you found it mentioned somewhere is because it was a song they did at a concert or something. They have done a few cover-songs on concerts.
I have done a little seach on aubergine girl generally as well now and not found anything - this is pretty rare so in all likelyhood it's not a savage garden song at all, and it seems unlikely it's a song that's known about either.
Hope that helps a bit.
Have a nice week-end
Birgitte T.
