About Birgitte Torvmark
Expertise
The questions I can answer about Savage Garden are about songs and albums and some personal stuff, mostly from back in good ole Savage Garden times though. I know more about the first album and songs than the second one. I am not as into all the news about Darren and Daniel as I used to, but I am still loving their music and I am still trying to keep track of what Darren is up to.

Experience
I have done lots of "researching" on them. I have all their albums and about 30-40 different singles. I have been a member of the Savage Garden Fanzine, and been on lots of S.G. mailing lists for years.

Question
I'm doing an assessment on youth culture-songs I've picked affirmation & the animal song. Can you please tell me when did they split up, how many albums & songs have they produced, and  thanks muchly. =)

Answer
Hi there!

Savage Garden officially split up in October 2001 but for a long period prior to that Darren had been the only one to show up for promotions etc.
Darren then gave out his album Spin early 2002. And has released 2 more albums after that (one was released just last week I think it was).

They did 2 albums together. Savage Garden, and Affirmation. They also did a greatest hits one last year actually.
The first album was different depending on where it was released so that some songs were not on the European versions etc (this is mostly for the first album). Then there's so called B-sides that you find as an extra on singles, but that are not on any albums.

All in all they did 31 songs. That's including all songs from different versions of the first album, and B-sides from that. Then all the songs from the Affrimation album + one B-side from that. It is probable that there excist a couple more B-songs from the Affirmation album (meaning, from singles released from that album).
This is of course not including any remixes. There were tonnes of those as well.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Birgitte T.
