Tom,
What's up with the I bond interest rate change 1 Nov 2007 and lack of application to bonds issued prior to that date.  Isn't the upward change supposed to apply to all outstanding I bonds?

Answer
K - yes, the change in the inflation rate applies to all prior I bonds, but not until your bond's six-month anniversary.

Unless your bond was issued in November or April, the rate increase will not occur on Nov 1. For more info on this, see this:
