Question I have buffet crampon tenor (S-A on the bell) with a serial number of 3230. From what I can tell this places it to 1953. Is this a dynaction horn? I just started researching this so I don't know much about the dynaction but it seems to fit in terms of year. Also, I'm looking to put this on ebay and don't know where to start the auction in terms of price.
Answer These are decently made hrn and some people claim they 'like them better than a Selmer'. Some people also prefer Hyundai over Lexus so I'd take those reviews with a huge grain of salt. The dynaction was BC's most 'famous' horn' but it never made the impression that the Selmer VI did - not even close.
If your dating your horn to 1953, you're a bit too early for the 'dynaction' series which began around 1957 and went clear through to 1975.
